Shakira Performs at 2014 World Cup Final Closing Ceremony, Brings Adorable Son Milan, 1—See the Photos!

Shakira shook things up and brought along her biggest fan to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final closing ceremony—her son!

Wearing a red, sequined strappy dress adorned with feathers and tassels than ran down her toned legs, the 37-year-old Colombian pop star and part-time coach of The Voiceperformed her World Cup song, “La La La (Brazil 2014),” with Brazilian musician Carlinhos Brown alongside drummers and Samba dancers at Maracanã Stadium in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil before the match began on Sunday, July 13.

While Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo sang, Shakira carried her 1-year-old son, Milan, in her arms and smiled widely as she walked and danced with him on stage.

The bashful boy, whose father is Shakira’s boyfriend, Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué, appeared somewhat stunned by the attention. The televised ceremony and match were watched by some 78,000 cheering spectators, including a slew of celebrities, plus millions of fans across the world.

Following Shakira’s performance, Wyclef JeanCarlos Santana and Brazilian singer Alexandre Pires sang the official World Cup anthem, “Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way).”

This marked the third time Shakira has performed at a World Cup. She previously sang “Waka Waka” at the 2010 tournament’s closing ceremony in South Africa and performed her mega-hit “Hips Don’t Lie” at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The 2014 World Cup’s opening ceremony on June 12 featured performances from PitbullJennifer Lopez and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte.

Stars spotted at Sunday’s final match included RihannaAshton Kutcher, retired soccer star David Beckham and his sons and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who unveiled the golden World Cup trophy, enclosed in a Louis Vuitton case, before Germany and Argentina’s teams began the match.
