Great expectations from Rekha

Not so long ago, Sridevi was asked to play a significant character in Abhishek Kapoor’s Katrina Kaif – Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Fitoor, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.

The actress who made a comeback with English Vinglish was reportedly being considered for the role of the cold hearted, halfcrazy, rich spinster Miss Havisham, who inhabits a dilapidated mansion dressed in her faded wedding gown. But though the part is pivotal to the story, perhaps it was the shades of grey that made Sridevi stay away. Also, the role required the glamorous actress to look much older and that reportedly prompted her to reject the offer.
