Five Nepali die during Hajj in Mecca

The death toll of Nepali nationals who lost their lives during the pilgrimage of Hajj in Mecca of Saudi Arabia has reached five.
Three Nepali nationals reportedly died during yesterday’s tragic stampede that claimed over 700 lives. One Rafiq Miya, 71, of Sunsari died while he was on his room while another Barkatullah, 64, died while he was walking during the pilgrimage.
The three Nepalis who lost their lives during the stampede have been identified as Zakir Hussain, Baraka Izhar Miya and Sulemaniya of Parsa district.
As per the official report, 717 people died on yesterday’s stampede. Hajj committee Chairman Taj Mohammad Miya informed that over 1000 Nepali nationals are participating in this year’s Hajj.
